Britney Spears recalls suffering a panic attack ahead of her 2007 VMAs gig

Britney Spears’ highly anticipated memoir, The Woman In Me, is finally out!

In the memoir, the pop star opened up about her “agonizing” life experiences as well as her highly criticized moments.

One of the controversial happenings the Toxic crooner has addressed in her memoir is from her 2007 MTV VMAs.

She also addressed her 2007 MTV VMAs gig, which drew heavy criticism for her out-of-form performance.

A few years ago, a video leaked online in which Spears, during her rehearsals performed the same number flawlessly in stark contrast to her live performance.

In her memoir, Britney, 41, revealed that she had an uncomfortable encounter with her ex Justin Timerlake at the show before her performance that had a profound emotional impact on her.

According to Daily Mail, talking about Timberlake, 42, the Criminal vocalist recalled, “It had been a while since I’d seen him. Everything was going great in his world. He was at the top of his game in every way, and he had a lot of swagger.”

She continued, “I was having a panic attack. I hadn’t rehearsed enough. I hated the way I looked. I knew it was going to be bad.”

“There was a problem with my costume and with my hair extensions. I hadn’t slept the night before. I was dizzy,” Britney added.

Despite that crucial moment, she did the best she could do at the time, even though it didn’t even come close to her usual electrifying performances.

Spears shared: “I could see myself on video throughout the auditorium while I performed; it was like looking at myself in a fun-house mirror.”
